Student Offerings
UMKC Suzuki Flute Institute • June 28-July 3, 2026
The UMKC Suzuki Flute Institute offers young flutists and their families a fun and invigorating learning opportunity in the heart of Kansas City at UMKC’s Conservatory. It’s a great way to enhance your year-round flute learning with wonderful teachers and students from near and far.
Daily activities for Suzuki flute students include masterclasses, repertoire (group) classes, and enrichment. There is free time every afternoon for practicing and exploring Kansas City. The week culminates with a performance celebrating the week’s work.
Special activities include opportunities for parent-teacher conversation, a recital by UMKC Flute Professor Dr. Terri Sánchez, and flute storytime with faculty member Zara Lawler.
This year we will be offering Graduation for all students who meet the requirements through the Heart of America Suzuki Association. Students graduating will receive a medal and get to perform in a special concert. If a student has participated in graduation through their home Suzuki Association, they are also eligible to participate in our graduation. Please contact us for any graduation questions.
